OpenChirp Local Installation- Local login without Google App key

Hi,

I was able to set up a local instance, non-ssl version, of OpenChirp using the following link < https://github.com/OpenChirp/ocfromscratch >. I want the instance to work on our intranet hence Google Apps are not accessible. How can I create the user profile?

Regards,

Akshai M

The newest version of the website and rest server should have a direct signup button under the Google sign-in option.
This will accept any well formed email and password.

Craig

Hi Craig,

I have tried offline and online < https://openchirp.io/>. I could not find a registration tab. Tried my email a password in the sign in option but it gives the following error.

Akshaim,

We do not currently have sign-up (without Google OAuth) on the main OpenChirp.io, but we fully support the option for your own instance.

I think the issue you are running into relates to the following recent commit:
https://github.com/OpenChirp/website/commit/c5caff330761a67884cd379f360ebcb96ee81dc9

I will get back to you in a bit with a fix.

Best,

Craig

Akshaim,

I made a patch that re-enables the signup from the web-front.

You should only need to pull the latest code for the website, make sure that you have signup_enabled configured to true, and rebuild using ng build -prod.

After that, you should see the SignUp button on the login page. Here is what it should look like.

Craig

It works now !!. Thanks
